TEZMARAL'S HISTORY

OUR NAME: Tezmaral comes from the combination of our family's initials:

Even as a child, horses were my passion. I has experience with the saddlebred, walking horses, thoroughbred and ended up falling in love with arabian horses. It soon became a family affair.
We moved to Texas in 1975 and started our Arabian Horse Farm in Argyle, TX. Today, my daughter Lisa Skalski IS Tezamaral Arabians. She is a successful breeder of the Polish Arabians, trains and competes at shows, she also has a class A judge's card.

In 1990, I lost my soulmate. I had to find another passion. I met Greg and Debbie Miller who introduced me to the German Shepherd. It started as a business venture. I financed the importing of dogs for the police departments with the Miller. A few dogs later, I met Kati Vom Hirshsprung, a black and tan bitch. It was love at first sight and so started my new passion: The German Shepherd! I am fond of telling people that I have gone to the dogs! I choose to follow the German standard of the breed. The Millers imported a black and tan male dog, Hanter Von Der Pfenningbacher Höne, SchH3. He was the new man in my life. I showed in AKC obedience, won a CD and a CDX with Hanter.

Soon I met another very important person in my dog days: Russell Osburn. He got me interested in the sport of Schutzhund. With help from Russ and a friend MaryLee Grasso, Hunter earned two Regional Championship's top 15 in National Schutzhund trials two years in a row and a World Schutzhund League Championship in Naples, FL where he earned pize money. WOW! What a guy! He lived to be 14½ years, a member of the 13 Club in German Shepherd Review.

I was on a roll! Russ went to Germany and found V Lupo De Lupis Fidis SchH 3, IPO 3, FH 2, KKL1 'a' Lbz, a red sable male dog. Lupo was famous for taling down Chris Carr in National Competition. He and Russ earned a CD and CDX in AKC Obedience.

The next man in my life was V-Wiso Vom Landhaus Stephan SchH3, KKL1 'a' Lbz, a red and tan dog of show lines. He and Russ earned a CD and a WGA Universal Sieger Title in 1999, and a Vice Sieger Title in 2000. He retired doing Therapy work and was my constant companion.

My second bitch was from the famous Arminius kennel: Irisa Von Arminius, SchH3. She did not care much about protection or obedience. Irisa was a good mother and produced some nice puppies. Irisa's pedigree showed many titles in Herding and she needed a job. My first dog Kati got me interested in herding and now I had a chance to pursue yet another sport. It was my good fortune to find Linda Holloway who trains Border Collies and smooth coat Collies. At 6 years of age, Irisa and Linda started training. Together they have earned titles in A, B, and C herding courses. Irisa is presently retired at 13 years of age. Linda is the exclusive trainer of the Tezmaral German Shepherds in herding.

I have had all colors of the German Shepherd, except a black. Russell found Bronko Vom Twiehauser Eck, SchH 3, CGC, a very serious Schutzhung competitor and a tracking champion. He is at present with Russ, enjoying life and producing dynamite babies.

Later on I acquired a beautiful boy, Caro Vom Qualiner Moor, HGH, HXC, KKL1 'a' Lbz, who is training with Linda in Herding. I also acquired a new girl from the Czech Republic, Armina Suche Lazce, who promises to be a super herding dog.

Margaret Skalski and Tezmaral hope to continue to produce the Total Dog, in structure, obedience, tracking, protection and herding, and last, but not least, a loyal and devoted companion.
